A Fun and Fashionable Mother’s Day on the Bay, Compliments of The Village Shops!
On Saturday, May 11th, The Village Shops kicked off Mother’s Day weekend with a fun and fashionable Celebrate Mom event. From 12-3pm, the leading ladies in our lives enjoyed fashion, entertainment, and complimentary family photos.
As guests took their seat waiting for the event to begin, they were pleasantly surprised with goodie bags, compliments of The Village Shops. A Village bag filled with all the essentials – visor, lip balm, nail filer, water bottle, umbrella, and a discount dining card – is enough to make any day (especially Mother’s Day) that much better!
At 12:30pm, Dance Arts by Maria opened the show, wowing the crowd with their skillful choreography to upbeat songs. The dancers made their way across the stage, in bright sequined costumes, performing lifts, twirls, kicks, and jumps. As the last song concluded, the audience loudly cheered and applauded, with all the dance moms beaming from ear to ear.
At 1:00pm, Shelley Slechta with the American Cancer Society and this year’s Celebrate Mom emcee took the stage. Shelley took a moment to educate on American Cancer Society and their incredible mission to save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer. Shelley then introduced seven brave and beautiful models/cancer survivors.
The ladies came out one by one, modeling two looks from Chico’s, Panache, Patchington, J.McLaughlin, Sara Campbell, and Tommy Bahama. The crowd cheered as the ladies strutted and danced along to the DJ’s songs dressed head to toe in spring and summer styles– maxi dresses, sundresses, bright colored blouses, and so many more bold and beautiful pieces.
All the while, throughout the duration of the event, families stopped by the photo booth to capture complimentary printout and email photos with mom. The framed photos captured a very happy Mother’s Day on the Bay!
Thank you to all who joined in on another successful event at The Village Shops. All weekend long, shoppers helped give back to a worthy cause by dropping shopping and dining receipts in the drop boxes located near Pratt’s Shoe Salon and Panache. The Village Shops donated 10% of sales from collected receipts to the American Cancer Society to continue to provide fierce fighters, like the seven models, with the programs and services needed to help manage cancer treatment and recovery.
