New Orleans → Naples: The Village Shops celebrated Mardis Gras at the Venetian Carnival!

Beads, balloons, photos, and masks…all the key components for a fun-filled carnival! On Saturday, February 22nd, The Village Shops celebrated all things purple, green, and gold for the Mardi Gras themed Venetian Carnival!

By 10am, crowds gathered to conquer all the carnival entertainment. First stop was mask decorating. The creativity was contagious at the craft table. First the decorators loaded up with Mardi Gras beads and then went straight to work designing. The masks transformed as each crafter added on purple, green and gold stickers in the shapes of circles, diamonds, stars, and Fleur De Lis, which together made a Mardi Gras masterpiece.

Up next was face painting! At the stroke of a brush, the little girls were transformed into princesses with flowers, rainbows, and jewels while the little boys were transformed into alligators, superheroes, skeletons, and more! Once the mirror was flipped and the paintings were revealed, there were many smiling faces at this station!

The balloon twisting stations were also a huge hit as each guest was given the option of butterflies, unicorns, Disney characters, animals, and more. It was no surprise that the dog balloon was one of the most popular picks, as many of the kids wanted a balloon to match their playful pups who also joined in the Venetian Carnival fun!

With faces painted and the masks, beads, and balloon art in tow, families headed to the Mardi Gras themed photo booth to capture Mardi Gras memories. Each family received a free framed and emailed copy of their photo. Weather and all, it sure was a great day for a carnival on the Bay!
