Share Memories Of The Village On Venetian Bay For 20-Year Anniversary
NAPLES, FL (April 3, 2009) -- The Village on Venetian Bay launches its 20th anniversary celebration on Friday, April 10th with an online contest inviting the public to share personal memories of experiences in the " The Village ," one of Naples premier waterfront shopping and dining destinations for visitors and locals.
"We want to know the enjoyable, humorous,. sentimental, romantic, productive or just plain fun moments experienced at The Village, from life-changing events to simple pleasures," said Kristin Cartwright, Director of Marketing for The Village on Venetian Bay. "Marriage proposals, the purchase of a favorite article of clothing, a memorable meal, a meaningful service encounter, bonding with friends while listening to music and enjoying the views -- virtually nothing is off-limits! With at least 8 million people participating in "Village moments" over 20 years means there is a vast repertoire of human stories intersecting with the life of Venetian Village."
Visit www.venetianvillage.com and follow the prompts for "Village Moments Contest." Everyone who enters has the option of agreeing to allow The Village to share their memories with the public in a variety of promotional material, and the option of remaining anonymous. Each month an entry will be drawn for a grand prize of free dinners, discounts at some of the 55 stores at The Village and gift cards. Entries can also be submitted manually at a kiosk at The Village on Venetian Bay, located near the restrooms on the south side of The Village.
The first drawing will take place on April 24th, simultaneous to an authentic Venetian Carnivale kick-off event to the 20th anniversary, to be celebrated for six months with regular events. The Carnivale, subtitled, "Celebrating the Venetian Spirit of Art & Enterprise," will be held throughout the weekend of Friday, April 24 through Sunday, April 26. Merchants throughout The Village will stage sidewalk sales of the latest fashions, restaurants will demonstrate food preparation and serve treats, free gondola rides will be given by real gondoliers, and gift certificates will be given out throughout the day. Entertainment includes mimes, stilt walkers, jugglers, and acrobats. Opera Naples singers will invite guests to sing an aria and win a prize for best performance.
