Children’s Play and Pet Adoptions
NAPLES, Fla. (June 2, 2009) - Now that school is out, The Village on Venetian Bay has added children’s activities to the June 20 Venetian Day celebration. Adult performers from The Naples Players’ outreach program called KidZAct will perform “Jack and Jill and the Beanstalk,” one of a series of fun follies at 1:00 p.m. and again at 2:00 p.m. The program will involve child audience participation.
Between KidzAct performances on stage at the north side of The Village, guests will hear live entertainment from noon to 4 p.m. adjacent to The Village’s new interactive water fountain where kids can keep cool while parents shop.
The Village has invited Collier County Domestic Animal Services (DAS) to bring dogs for adoption to the shopping center during the June 20th Venetian Day event. Shoppers will have the opportunity to adopt a dog from DAS between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. at The Village on Venetian Bay.
“This is an excellent opportunity for shoppers to run into their next furry friend and what a fantastic exposure opportunity to educate the public about the plight of homeless animals in Collier County,” said Kathy Drew, DAS Volunteer Coordinator.
All 50 stores will offer savings on top quality merchandise. The first 20 shoppers making a minimum $50 purchase at Taffeta will receive a free beach bag. Along with great savings on Patchington’s colorful clothes, shoppers can have free facials and register for a $25 gift certificate and other prizes. Yvonne House of Shoes is having a trunk sale of Victoria hand-painted shirts and matching handbags. Terrida, specialists in handmade Italian luggage, offers 20 percent off their entire stock and a free Venetian tote ($700 value) with the purchase of a Venetian collection trolley suitcase.
These stores and many others will also be serving wine and snacks, coffee and desserts during event and restaurants will feature discounts such as the two for $20 lunches at M Waterfront Grill and Bayside Seafood Grill and Bar. Villagio will host a cook-out in the courtyard and offer every 20th hot dog for free. At Artichoke & Company, all diners sip a complimentary glass of wine with lunch, with every 20th customer receiving lunch on the house. The Village Pub will have 20 cent draft beers with the purchase of an entrée.
“With school out for the summer and more people shopping with their children, we are hosting a variety of activities that will appeal to families,” said Kristin Cartwright, Marketing Director for The Village on Venetian Bay. “Summer gives us a chance to partner with the community and offer fun for year round residents.”
