Boat Parade Honors The Mental Health Association
NAPLES, FL (December 14, 2009) – This year’s Village on Venetian Bay Boat Parade was a twinkling success as boaters floated past a table of judges and a slew of merry onlookers clustered throughout the shops. The grand prize of $1,000 was awarded to the Mental Health Association of Southwest Florida, boat number thirty, captained by Jim Atrozkin of Absolute Yacht Service.
“Given the current economic conditions and the challenges that many non-profit organizations face with fundraising, this $1,000 prize is like an early holiday present,” expressed Joshua Rudnick, the President of the Board of Directors of the Mental Health Association. “We were thrilled to participate in the event and hope that it increases the public’s awareness of our organization as a whole, along with the specific programs and services that we offer the local community.”
The Lutgert Companies, owners and developers of The Village on Venetian Bay, also awarded prizes to those who participated as individuals in the competition. The first place winner of a $500 gift certificate to M Waterfront Grille was boat number eight, captained by Brendan Goreman from Artichoke & Company. The second place winner of a $250 gift certificate to MiraMare Ristorante was boat number ten, captained by Chris Sereno from M Waterfront Grille. Lastly, the third place winner of a complimentary annual sea tow membership courtesy of Sea Tow Naples was boat number fourteen, captained by Zach Malone. [back]
