A Wonderful Week on the Waterfront: The Village Shops Thanksgiving “Run” Down
24 Years of the Gobble Gobble Thanksgiving Day 5k
Thanksgiving morning at The Village Shops kicked off with excitement as nearly 2,000 runners laced up for the 24th annual Gobble Gobble Thanksgiving Day 5K, hosted by Elite Events. From check-in and stretching to pinning on race bibs and gathering at the starting line, the waterfront was buzzing with early-morning energy.
Ready, Set, Run!
At 7:30am, the National Anthem played, followed by the lights and rumble of a Naples police motorcycle leading the runners down Gulf Shore Blvd. As the countdown hit zero, they were off! Minutes later, cheers erupted as racers crossed the finish line and proudly receiving their well-earned medals.
Post-Race Perks
Participants continued the sprint straight to The Village Shops tent for complimentary post-race goodies including protein bars, hats, visors water bottles, t-shirts, and pens.
Burning Calories -> Coffee
Next step…caffeine! Runners headed over to Black Letter Coffee + Café’s table where they received complimentary bags and 20% off Café coupons which quickly led to a courtyard full of runners rushing over for a caffeine fix.
Finishing Off the Day with a Festive Feast
With calories burned and coffees in hand, it was time to head home and gear up for a delicious Thanksgiving dinner at one of The Village’s delicious dining spots. Of course, the topic of dinner was planning a return trip to The Village for a weekend full of Black Friday shopping and unbeatable sales!
