Bikes, Bows & Big Smiles at The Village Shops’ Annual Bike Giveaway!
Holiday magic rolled into Grace Place on Saturday, December 6th as Christmas came early for 88 middle and high school students. The Village Shops hosted its Annual Bike Giveaway event where Santa, Mrs. Claus, The Village Shops Marketing Team, and Western Bike joined forces to bring shiny new bikes, helmets, lights, and locks to 88 deserving children.
As the morning unfolded, students arrived one by one, picking up their goodie bags and enjoying a special visit and photo with Santa and Mrs. Claus before heading to the Christmas courtyard filled with bikes as far as the eye could see. Their excitement peaked as they discovered their very own bike waiting just for them, each topped with a festive bow.
With help from Western Bike, every student was perfectly fitted to their new ride. Helmets were strapped on, and soon the courtyard buzzed with the sound of whizzing wheels as they happily pedaled away on their new bikes.
Grace Place’s mission is rooted in creating pathways out of poverty through education. Through a comprehensive framework of early childhood education, youth programs, adult education, P.A.C.T. (Parent and Child Together) time, and interactive family literacy activities, Grace Place supports the entire family!
For many families balancing work, school, and daily responsibilities, transportation can be one of the biggest barriers to accessing these programs. That’s why The Village Shops’ Bike Giveaway event is especially important. These new bikes are more than just a Christmas present, they provide students with a reliable way to travel to Grace Place and participate in after-school and educational programs, even when their parents’ schedules are full.
