Dad’s Day on the Bay Was Another Great Success!
On Saturday, June 15th, car connoisseurs of all ages came out to celebrate Father’s Day on the Bay at the Dad’s Day Out event! By 9:00am, antique automobile drivers and spectators bee lined for the refreshments table to fuel up before the big show. The Village Shops offered complimentary coffee, juice, and waters in addition to a delicious assortment of pastries. These well sought-after treats were enjoyed before, during, and after the show.
By 10:00am, old-fashioned horns were honking and the car show officially kicked off! The Naples-Marco Island Antique Automobile Club of America created quite the lineup this year with cars of all different makes, models, colors, and sizes. The car owners showed off the pristine condition of their vehicles – popping the hoods, rolling down the windows to show the interior, and standing by to provide more information. It was undeniably a show for all generations to enjoy.
In between admiring the automobiles and enjoying the refreshments, guests also lined up to take their photos with Dad at the complimentary photo booth. The camera was snapping pictures all afternoon, providing each guest with a complimentary framed/printed and emailed photo to remember a fun-filled Dad’s Day Out!
Between 10:00am and 12:00pm, guests filed up and down the aisles trying to decide on their favorite antique car and making sure they casted their vote. At 12:30pm, the ballots were counted and the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners were announced and presented with their trophies. This year’s voting was a very close call!
The 1st place trophy was awarded to car #1, a 1970 Super Sport Chevrolet Chevelle, with a shiny black exterior and two white stripes. The license plate read “Pure Muscle” and from the look of it, we couldn’t agree more!
The 2nd place trophy was awarded to car #21. The iconic and rare Lincoln from the 1900’s was a showstopper with its gray finish, side mount spare tire, and many other impeccable details.
The 3rd place trophy was awarded to car #9. It was no wonder this Pierce-Arrow antique was voted in the top three. The car was an absolute beauty with its glossy finish, wood spoke wheels, and black interior.
At 1:00pm, another impressive car show came to a close. Thank you to all who came out and celebrated Father’s Day with The Village Shops and voted on your favorite car. We look forward to seeing you again next year!
