JDRF One Walk at The Village Shops on Venetian Bay!
Join the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and The Village Shops on Venetian Bay on Saturday, November 10th, for the JDRF One Walk. The Village Shops is honored to be the location for the walk again this year to support a worthy cause. The JDRF One Walk has one goal in mind: to create a world without Type 1 Diabetes (T1D). Help make a cure a reality by joining in on a day of fun including a 5k and endless entertainment!
The family-friendly JDRF One Walk is free of charge to all participants. Walkers can pre-register prior to the event by visiting walk.jdrf.org/naplesor can register day of by filling out a Walker Collection Envelope, which can be found at the registration tables. Registration/check-in for the walk begins at 7:30am on the north side of The Village. The wonderful JDRF volunteers will be present and ready to assist you!
The walk kicks of at 9:00am, beginning and ending on the north side of The Village Shops in front of Naples’ only Ben & Jerry’s. The walk length is 3.1 miles, the duration of a 5k, with the option to walk a shortened 1.5-mile path as well.
The route of the walk extends from The Village Shops at Venetian Bay down to Seagate Drive and back. There is no better way to cool off after a long walk than with a delicious ice cream cone at the Ben & Jerry’s ending location!
After the walk, enjoy food, fun, and entertainment. Walk Day will feature complimentary breakfast food and drinks, informational areas, and lots of fun in the “Kid Zone”. Take part in fun for the whole family including face painting, rock painting, corn hole toss, a bounce house, a rock-climbing wall, Home Depot activity tables, and a DJ playing your favorite songs! Be sure to also stop by the diabetes vendors, providing information on the latest and greatest in diabetes care and research – pumps, monitors, insulin, and more!
The JDRF One Walk goes hand in hand with JDRF’s mission to accelerate life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent, and treat Type 1 Diabetes and its complications. Join JDRF, The Village Shops, and the community this weekend to help turn Type One into Type None!
From Friday, November 9ththrough Monday, November 12th, The Village will also be donating 10% of sales from collected receipts to support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Shop and dine after the walk and support this effort by placing your receipts from any Village retailer or restaurant in the drop boxes located near Panache or Pratt’s Shoe Salon.
Parking Information:
All JDRF One Walk participants must report to the Northern Trust parking lot at US41 and Park Shore Drive (4001 Tamiami Trail N, Naples, FL 34103)for event parking. There is a complimentary shuttle to bring all participants to the walk site. The shuttle will run continuously between 6:30am and 12:30pm and will bring all guests back to their cars after the event.
