Mardi Gras Memories Were Made at The Venetian Carnival!
On Saturday, March 2nd, the Mardi Gras celebration kicked off early at The Village Shops on Venetian Bay. The Venetian Carnival brought New Orleans to Naples with the help of beads, balloons, masks, and photos.
Children of all ages quickly formed a system to conquer all the carnival entertainment. First stop was mask decorating, second was face painting, third was the balloon twisting line, and the last stop was the photo booth to capture the full look.
The creative juices were flowing at the mask-decorating table. First the decorators loaded up with Mardi Gras beads and then went straight to work designing. The masks transformed as each crafter added on purple, green and gold stickers. The stickers included circles, diamonds, and Fleur De Lis, which together made a Mardi Gras masterpiece.
At the second stop as each child stepped into the face-painting chair, they anxiously waited to see the final look. The talented artists painted stroke after stroke transforming the little girls into princesses with bedazzled face jewels while the little boys transformed into alligators, Spider Man, and other super heroes.
The balloon twisting station was also a huge hit as each guest was given the option of butterflies, unicorns, Disney characters, animals, and more. Each balloon art piece was more colorful than the last. The balloons were then turned into bracelets for each child to wear and keep close by.
With faces painted and the masks, beads, and balloon art bracelets on, families headed to the Mardi Gras themed photo booth. Selecting from a table of props, fun and festive photos were taken to remember their Venetian Carnival memories. Each family received a free framed and email copy of their photo.
It was a great day for a carnival on the Bay!
