Women’s History Month Spotlight: Bayside Seafood Grill & Bar
1Today, we continue our Women’s History Month series by celebrating Bayside Seafood Grill & Bar, a beloved waterfront dining destination that has been serving fresh seafood and classic cuisine for 35 years. Founded in 1990 by Sukie Honeycutt and her partners, Bayside was established at a time when the south side of The Village on Venetian Bay was still developing. Sukie was drawn to the opportunity to bring exceptional seafood and hospitality to North Naples, and with its stunning waterfront views, Bayside quickly became a go-to spot for both locals and visitors.

From the beginning, Sukie was hands-on in bringing her vision to life. She was on-site every day during construction, wearing a hard hat and making key decisions to ensure the restaurant’s functionality. Her keen eye for detail led to improvements like redesigning the downstairs Café bar for optimal service.

One of her most impactful innovations was the transformation of The Upper Deck. Originally, it had just six tables with umbrellas that would often fly into the Bay during storms. Recognizing the potential of this prime waterfront space, Sukie oversaw the addition of a hard-shell cover, more tables, and eventually, a 22-seat bar to create one of the most scenic dining experiences in Naples.

Today, Bayside Seafood Grill & Bar continues to thrive with its multi-level dining experience: casual fare in the first-floor Café, refined seafood dishes in the second-floor Grill, and an unbeatable sunset view from The Upper Deck Bar. While Sukie credits her dedicated front-of-house and kitchen teams for the restaurant’s continued success, she remains actively involved, often bringing guests in to enjoy the menu and share their feedback, something that always fills her with pride.

Join us in celebrating Sukie Honeycutt and the 35-year legacy of Bayside Seafood Grill & Bar, located on the south side of The Village Shops in suite 4270!
